Meeting Minutes
The Carter County Commissioners met on Monday March 31, 2021 in the Carter County Courthouse Boardroom. Present were Steve Rosencranz Chairman, Rod Tauck Vice Chair, Mike Watkins Member, and Corbit Harrington Attorney.
Commissioner Rosencranz called the meeting to order at 9:00 am.
The Board approved payroll in the amount of 195,394.32 and Warrants in amount of $ 729,243.08.
The commission signed the Sacrison Paving proposal for paving the airport. The proposed cost of the work is for approximately 195 tons of asphalt at $160.00 per ton. For a total of $31,200.00.
Attorney Harrington joined the meeting.
Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the March 25, 2021 meeting minutes. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.
Commissioner Tauck made a motion to approved the purchase of the Airport fuel tank insurance coverage. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion passed unanimously.
Pam Castleberry updated The Board on cyber security training program that The County employees will start in a few weeks. The program coordinator, Arthur Pembroke and DIS Technologies recommend setting up a new cohesive email system. Commissioner Tauck made a motion to set up a new secure email system. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.
The Board discussed the Denbury Resources road use contract discussion where they reviewed the mileage and gravel costs.
The meeting adjourned for lunch @ 12:00 and 1:05
The commission called Greg Benjamin of Stahly Engineering. Attorney Harrington will send Greg and Dave Anderson of Denbury Resources a copy of the draft contract as well as a contract for road use assessment.
The commissioners signed letters to the Public Health Administrative Assistant Candidate’s.
Public Health Officer/ Public Health Nurse Trish Laughlin called in. she is willing to stay on staff as the PHO/ PHN until the County can hire a replacement nurse. She will need equipment and supplies to continue to set up the Public Health Clinic. The commission asked her to make a list to present to them. Trish ended the call.
Interview for the Airport maintenance position interview. Present include: Troy Fruit, Greg Harris, Dane Castleberry, and job applicant “Bill” William Kalstrom. The group discussed duties and responsibilities of the job. Commissioner Watkins made the motion to Hire Bill for the position. The group called the Darrin Pluhar requesting that he include liability insurance for his fuel storage.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 4:15.
