Carter County is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Capital Improvements Plan (CCIP), which is a budgeting and planning tool used to establish long term needs for purchasing equipment or maintaining, improving, or building new public facilities. The CCIP is intended to provide goals and objectives for the County to improve and replace County assets before they are faced with an emergency situation.
The County has currently gathered a list of needs from all County Departments. The needs vary from equipment purchases to facility maintenance projects or new construction.
The County is also asking for public input in regard to the CCIP update. The survey is available to anyone out there who may have a project that they want the county to consider or to a nonprofit that is wanting the county to sponsor a grant opportunity on their behalf. The survey is available at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office or on the county website: cartercountymontana.squarespace.com.
Once we have received the project requests from all County departments and the public, the projects will be prioritized based on criteria determined by the County Commissioners and added to the CCIP for funding. A public meeting will be held on February 18th to review the requests and establish the projected projects. Carter county employees, department heads and the public is encouraged to attend.
