Meeting Minutes: July 23, 2022

The Board of Carter County Commissioners met in regular session on Thursday, June 23, 2022, in the Carter County Commission Board Meeting Room of the Carter County Courthouse at 214 Park Street in Ekalaka, Montana.  Steve Rosencranz, Chairman; Rod Tauck, Vice Chair and Mike Watkins, Member; were present.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 am.

There was no public comment

The commission placed a call to Terri Lindberg to clarify the gravel haul on the South end of the Cottonwood Creek Road.

Bob Jacobs, County maintenance joined the meeting to let the commission know that he will be replacing the lighting in the courthouse with LED fixtures.

Public Health Officer discussion- Commissioner Tauck made the motion to run and ad for 2 weeks in the Eagle and Fallon County Times for the position of Public Health Officer. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Fish Wildlife and Parks Land grant letter for the Keith Ranch. County Attorney Corbit Harrington will draft a letter for the Commission to sign On June 30, 2022.

Commission proceedings- the commission reviewed the minutes from June 13, 2022. They requested additional corrections and will review again at the next meeting.

Courthouse Custodial hire- Discussed starting wage for County Custodian.

The commissioners reviewed emails and correspondence.

The meeting adjourned for lunch at 12:00 and reconvened at 1:00. 

The commission reviewed the Public Health Officer help wanted ad.

Clerk and Recorder Pam Castleberry presented Budget review of funds that have no managers.

Great West ARPA funding and Budget reviewed Counties obligations. The Town of Ekalaka obligations. How invoices are going to work.

 The commission had Deputy Clerk and Recorder Judy Wright send an email to Dahl Memorial CEO about the removal of Dahl’s property from the Old Hospital Building.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:00 pm.
