Minutes: April 08, 2021

The Carter County Commissioners met on Thursday April 8, 2021 in the Carter County Courthouse Boardroom. Present were Steve Rosencranz, Chairman; Rod Tauck, Vice Chair; Mike Watkins, Member; and Corbit Harrington Attorney.

Branson Rogers, Ekalaka Public Schools Transportation Director and Will Hardy of Hardy Construction joined the meeting to ask the commission permission to use Caden’s Park for recess and the Event Center approach for drop off and pick up of students. Construction begins Friday April 09, 2021 on an addition between the Grade School and High School this will block access to the main entrances to both buildings. The commissioners requested that the School provide a MOU outlining the use of County property including additional insurance considerations. Branson and Will left the meeting.

Kodie Olson, Fallon/ Carter Extension Service -4H requested the use of the Carter County Extension Credit Card to purchase fuel for the 4-H members trip to Apple Idaho. The Board confirmed that the funds would come from the County Extension. Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the use of the credit card for fuel for the trip. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Mark Wright Construction returned the signed work agreement for the replacement of the concrete parking area and side walk in front of the Courthouse.

Commissioner Tauck made a motion to approve an early warrant for Public safety in the amount of $43,304.00 and a re-issue warrant to Mike Madler. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion there was no public comment and the motion carried.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve Resolution 04082021-01 in acting Stage 1 Fire restrictions in Carter County. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

The Board discussed the Assistant Public Health nurse position. Pam Castleberry joined the discussion on PERS retirement program. The Commissioners called Kirstie Nelson, she was unavailable.

Commissioner Watkins made a motion to approve the April 05, 2021 meeting minutes. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Commissioner’s signed an addendum to council on aging Budget and letter to the Public Health nurse assistant candidates.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 12:00 pm.
