Minutes: April 15, 2021
The Carter County Commissioners met on Monday April 12, 2021 in the Carter County Courthouse Boardroom. Present were Steve Rosencranz, Chairman, Mike Watkins, Member; and Corbit Harrington Attorney. Rod Tauck was absent.
Steve Ely, Ekalaka Public School Superintendent and Branson Rogers, Transportation director presented the commissioners with a letter requesting the use of the Caden’s Park for recess and the event center for access to the school as well as parking. The commissioners signed the letter agreeing to allow the school to use the property through May 26, 2021.
Commissioner Watkins made the motion to accept the resignation of Lauren Reynolds as the Camp Needmore Care Taker effective April 20,2021 and the resignation of Jennifer Hall as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator effective April 31, 2021. Commissioner Rosencranz seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried. Pam Castleberry, Clerk and Recorder presented the Board with an ad for the Camp Needmore care taker position. Advertisement for the positions has been sent to the Ekalaka Eagle.
The commissioners and Attorney Harrington discussed Ekalaka Town Surveys and flood plain.
Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the April 8, 2021 Commission Proceedings. Commissioner Rosencranz seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried unanimously.
Jesi Person, Treasurer joined to present the quarterly reports, including securities report, cash report and reconciliation. Hospital project payouts. She will be sending out the mobile home tax bills later this year as the legislature my change regulations effecting mobile home taxation.
The treasurer’s office has purchased a laptop to use for the Airport bookwork including fuel reports.
Commissioners called Greg Benjamin, Stahly Engineering to touch base on the contract for road use assessment. He is still working out the details and will be in touch when he has a final draft. He is also looking to set up a final walk through on the landscaping on the hospital build project. He would like to make sure the grade moves water away from the building. Especially in the Courtyard area.
Pam Castleberry, Clerk and Recorder presented the Board with an ad for the Camp Needmore care taker position.
There was discussion regarding plans for the old hospital building.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 11: 45.
