Commission Proceedings

The Carter County Commissioners met on Tuesday February 26, 2021 in the Carter County Courthouse Boardroom. Present were Steve Rosencranz Chairman, Mike Watkins Member, and Attorney Corbit Harrington. Commissioner Tauck was absent.

Commissioner Rosencranz called the meeting to order at 9:00 pm.

Commission reviewed and approved payroll in the amount of $208,230.97 and the claims in the amount of $1,179,371.98.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to sign the ADA self-evaluation of Carter County Buildings for CDBG grant. Commissioner Rosencranz seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Commissioner Watkins made a motion to approve the meeting minutes for 02-01-2021 and 02- 08-2021. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the meeting minutes with corrections for the 02-11-221 and the 02-16-221 meeting. Commissioner Rosencranz seconded the motion and there was no public comment.

The Board discussed setting the meeting agenda.

Commission discussed Denbury Cedar Creek Anticline pipeline project. They reviewed the road use agreement.

Commission broke for lunch at 12:00 and reconvened at 1:25

Jesse Scott joined the meeting to review her improvement plan. Airport grant for a generator, may apply for this in the fall.

The commission placed a call to Patricia Loughlin for an update on the Public Health Nurse position. She has submitted her resignation. Trish see the Health Job as a full-time position. The commission asked what she would need to continue as the Carter County Public Health Nurse. She needs a support staff with experience in Public Health to get the program up and running. She requested that Carter County contact Fallon County to help with training her and an administrative assistant and or another part time nurse. She would like to have the County Health Department files and supplies moved to the Courthouse to make it easier to find what she needs to complete the duties of the job. Carter County will work to get more staff and training help on board as soon as possible. Trish will withhold her resignation through the Month of March. She will meet with commissioners again on March 25, 2021.

The commission placed a call to Mindi Murnion of the Fallon County Health Department.

Commissioners called Mindi Murnion Fallon County Public Health Administrator. She and her staff are willing to help Trish Loughlin set up the Carter County Public Health Program. Mindi recommends combining Health Boards and herself and her nurses would be available to come to Ekalaka to facilitate setting up.
