The Carter County Commissioners met on Monday 05, 2020 in the Carter County Courthouse Boardroom. Present were Steve Rosencranz Chairman, Vice Chair Rod Tauck, and member Mike Watkins, Corbit Harrington Attorney. Commissioner Rosencranz called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Senior Citizen Coordinator Tricia Lovec joined the meeting to Hire custodian for the Senior Citizen Center. There was discussion about the designation of the job. Permanent part time or temporary part time. Commissioner Tauck made the motion to hire Martha Elmore as the temporary part time custodian for the senior center. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.
Commissioner Watkins made the motion to sign the aerial hunting tax reimbursement from the department of livestock. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion and all voted in favor. There was no public comment and the motion carried.
Attorney Harrington and the Commissioners discussed County credit cards and MACo's policy on them.
Steven Ely Principle of Ekalaka Public schools joined the meeting to update the commissioners on the steps being taking at the school during the COVID-19 outbreak. He thanked the commissioners for the opportunity to have open communication with them and the Health department. Commissioner Rosencranz invited Mr. Ely to join the Health Board as an advisory member which he excepted.
Commissioner Tau ck made a motion to sign the Carter County Courthouse final survey, Plat# 180419. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment. They all voted in favor and the motion carried.
Cecile Kuehn Deputy Treasurer/ payroll clerk joined the meeting to discuss the personnel policy. Cecile left the meeting.
Commissioner Tauck made a motion requesting Attorney Harrington draft a letter to Neil Kittleman notifying him of the termination of the lease of the old Airport property. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.
The commissioners and Attorney Harrington reviewed definitions of department heads and supervisors in the personnel policy.
Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the minutes for the September 10,2020 meeting. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment. The motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Tauck made the motion to approve the minutes for the September 14, 2020 meeting. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment. The motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the minutes for the September 21,2020 meeting with corrections. Commissioner Tauck seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 3:00 pm.
